Casey Trees is a local organization that works with neighborhood groups to plant trees throughout the city. They have an extensive spring planting calendar planned for tree plantings throughout the city.

Their first event is this Saturday at Rosedale Estate Grounds. This is in upper northwest (see map below).

Here are the details:

MAIN STREET INTERSECTION: 36th St & Newark St, NW

WHAT TO EXPECT: Tools and instruction are provided, along with light refreshments. This event will occur rain or shine unless the weather is severe. Cancellations will be posted on our office phone voicemail at 202-833-4010 by 7:30am the morning of the event.

$10 gets you in the door to check it out.

1. Pick up one piece of litter as you walk around.

2. Grab a grocery bag and pick up a few pieces of litter.

3. Grab a garbage bag and clean up your block. Spend only about 30 minutes and you can clean up both sides of your block.

4. Casey Trees is hosting a tree planting on Saturday.

5. Got a treebox in front of your house? Rake out the leaves and get it ready for some spring planting.
