The next clean up is scheduled for Saturday, December 8th. We will start at 10 AM and work for two hours till Noon. We'll focus on getting as much trash as possible and maybe do some competitive picking - most trash bags, most vodka bottles, etc...
I'm looking to do something in eastern half of Shaw as we haven't gotten over there yet. I've created this Google map of the area of interest. Please add your thoughts to the comments about where we should work.

maybe we can hop the fence of the empty lot on rhode island just west of the gas station/check cashing place on the southwest corner of RI and NJ...and then send a bill to the owners of that lot for not taking better care of what is an eyesore for the whole neighborhood.

Thanks Geoff...sounds a bit renegade for me. But I do think we should document the site and try to find the owners and ask them to clean it. I'd be happy to help out on that if it hasn't already started.
In terms of our clean up - I'm looking for some street blocks we should focus on. Maybe New Jersey from Rhode Island to O street.
