Our second Shaw Monthly Clean Up was a great success this past Saturday. We met at 9th & Q streets for some street cleaning - about 10 bags worth of trash in all. Then we moved on to the hard labor - planting a bunch of Liriope (monkey grass) into treeboxes along 9th street.
This was a successful collaboration with our clean up group and Shaw Main Streets (SMS). SMS coordinated with The Green Team and we were able to plant about 10-12 grass plants into more then 20 boxes.
We added plants to the 9th street corridor between P & Q and in the Ethiopian neighborhood between T & U.
Many people came out to give us thanks from Shiloh parishioners, business owners, and nearby residents. And Barry, from Nation Wide Insurance grabbed a shovel and got dirty with us - Thanks Barry!
Thanks to everyone who came out and supported our efforts! This is shaping up to a nice monthly project and every little effort helps clean up the streets in our community.

Dude, you are becoming a Johnny Appleseed of sorts--I dig it.
Moved to SF. Speaking of garbage, this whole place needs a good scrubbin'.
We need to catch up...
